On Saturday, May 2, 1981, Education for Freedom of Choice in Ohlo (EFCO) and the Coalition for Laber Union Women (CLUW) are co-sponsoring a conference on Health issues and Labor Women. Displaced Homemakers (women who have lost the support they were dependent upon) can get help through the Displaced Homemakers Program at all campuses of Cuyahoga Community College. The program offers services to help women become "job ready" and self-supporting. No fees are charged. To be eligible, a woman must have worked without pay as a homemaker for her family, not been gainfully employed, and be at least 35 years old. Through the Looking Glass is a collective of 15 women who do jail and prison support work. Their newsletter provides and encourages a radical analysis of different forms of incarceration, and provides space for women and youth inside: to communicate with the outside and each other to try to break the isolation of those in prison.

For the seventh consecutive year the FREE CLINIC will unite its efforts with CWRU Medical School to provide an Afternoon Clinic at the Free Clinic. The clinic will provide routine pelvic exams and pap tests, family planning, pregnancy testing, and treatment of vaginal infections and sexually transmitted diseases.
The purposes of the clinic are: 1) to provide people with quality medical care, education and counseling related to their specific needs; and 2) to provide second year medical students with an introduction to the sensitive issues involved in performing male and female genital exams and talking with people about sexual matters.

On January 22, on the 8th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion. pro-choice supporters will meet at 7:00 p.m. in front of the Masonic Temple, 3615 Euclid Avenue, to picket the annual Right-To-Life meeting. Afterwards, a rally will be held at the CSU University Center, 22nd and Euclid. Rhonda Copelon, one of the attorneys arguing before the Supreme Court against the Hyde Amendment, will be the main speaker.
The Women's Coordinating Committee of the GEAR Foundation, Lesbians in GEAR Hanging Together (LIGHT), meets on the second Wednesday of every month at the Gay Community Center, 1012 Sumner Court. Women's Action Collective, a radical feminist organization founded in Columbus, Ohio, is planning a regional conference to include workshops, speakers, entertainment and dancing. The workshops will cover a variety of issues, including insuring continued growth of the women's movement, developing tactics and strategies to deal with the reactionary right, and structuring a regional grass-roots feminist network. Cleveland State University Women's Alliance presents a Women's Film Festival to be held on four Wednesday evenings beginning January 21. Each evening, one short film and one feature film will be shown that focus on some aspect of women's lives. The talents of women are featured in each film as actor, director, writer or producer.
